Full-Time/ Full-Day Kindergarten-Huntington Hills and Thorncliffe Communities
For the 2026-2027 school year, our school will offer a full-time kindergarten program to students in the designated attendance areas of Thorncliffe and Huntington Hills as per the walk zone indicated in the school profile. This information can be found here: Catherine Nichols Gunn School Profile
The CBE receives funding for half-time kindergarten programs from Alberta Education. As a school system, we choose to supplement the half-time funding to provide full-day programs at a small number of schools that meet specific criteria. The list of schools offering full-time programs is reviewed annually, and the data is used to determine which schools have the greatest need and meet the established criteria. Please be advised that the data used to determine which schools will offer a full-time kindergarten program is updated each spring, and the schools that offer full-time kindergarten may change from year to year.
Community Kindergarten Instructional Calendar
Half-Time/ Full-Day Kindergarten-Cornerstone Community
For the 2026-2027 school year, our school will offer a half-time kindergarten program to students in the Cornerstone Community. To accommodate families for bussing, students will attend full days, part-time. Families will be provided a schedule for the days their child will attend kindergarten classes (Monday and Wednesday OR Tuesday and Thursday, with scheduled Fridays according to the instructional calendar for their days.

Kindergarten Staggered Entry
To ease student transition to full days of school and learning, the school year will start with staggered entry for kindergarten students. Students are assigned to their homerooms on registration.
